The Rural Health Network of South Central New York is hosting Growing Health 2012, on October 16th and 17th, 2012, at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel.
On Tuesday, October 16, 2012, from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, the Rural Health Network is hosting the New York State Healthy Farms, Healthy People Meeting with participants from throughout the state spending the day considering critical farm, food and health related issues including Individual and Consumer Access to NYS Food Products, and Business and Institutional Access to NYS Food Products.
The Evening Celebration of Local Foods takes place from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM on October 16. This celebration offers local food products prepared by some of the region's finest chefs, and include locally raised vegetables and meats, fruits from New York State producers, and beverages from New York State farms, wineries, and breweries.
The Growing Health 2012 Conference is being held Wednesday, October 17, from 7:15 AM to 3:30 PM as the second day of the two-day program. The day of workshops, plenary presentations, and interdisciplinary learning starts with two pre-conference walking tours: the Binghamton Urban Farm and the Binghamton Greenway.
