The West Building Entrance/Exit (by the cafeteria) will be closed starting on February 27. The entrance will remain closed until April 1. This entrance will only be available as an emergency exit during this time. In addition to the building entrance closing, the West Drive sidewalk next to the DePaul Pavilion will not be accessible to any pedestrian traffic.

Additional security officers will be posted to direct traffic, as needed. And, two additional golf carts will be made available to assist with patient transport during the next several months.
 

In order to begin final construction of the flood wall, shoring will be installed along the West Drive.  The West Drive will be closed from just past the Emergency Department entrance down to the entrance/exit to the G Lot.  This installation will take place over two weekends – Saturday, February 27 and Sunday, February 28 and Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7.

During these weekends, the West Drive will be closed; however, the West Drive will reopen Monday through Friday.  Patients will still be able to access the Emergency Department at all times.  Once all the shoring is in place, the West Drive will remain open to two-way vehicle traffic, but no pedestrian traffic will be permitted.

The magnet for our new Open MRI machine, weighing nearly 34,000 pounds, was lowered into the hospital through a skylight on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Lourdes will begin scheduling patients for Open MRI in March.
