In response to worry about identity theft, the Federal
Trade Commission (FTC) and other government agencies now
require hospitals and other organizations that issue
“credit” by providing services in advance of payment to have
an Identity Theft Prevention Program.
To make the program work, Lourdes will ask you to show us a photo
identification, or two other forms of identification and your insurance
information. We will ask for this each time you come to the
Hospital or any of our clinics for services. Patient care will not be
delayed due to lack of identification. (Note: This does not
apply to visitors.)
The new system will be implemented on August 1, 2009. We hope that this new process will be easy for you.
