Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship Program
To promote careers in
healthcare and to help Lourdes in meeting staffing
needs, we offer a Tuition Assistance Program. The program provides assistance for
Lourdes employees and other individuals who are preparing for entry level
positions for which recruitment is difficult. The educational institution and program in which the
recipient is enrolled must be fully accredited. Individuals
who take advantage of the scholarship are obligated to repay the tuition assistance
with a service commitment to Lourdes. This service commitment must commence within sixty (60) days of the student’s graduation
date.
Participants in this program will be awarded a loan on a semester basis. The
loan will be interest free and no payments will be required during the recipient’s educational
program. Those who complete the specified service requirements
shall be entirely forgiven by Lourdes of all debts and obligations under the
tuition assistance program. While attending school, scholarship
loan program recipients are encouraged to seek employment at Lourdes. When
possible, Lourdes will place students in positions that
will complement their
educational training.
Tuition Forgiveness
Lourdes offers tuition repayment for our graduate nurses. We offer $5,000.00 for
Associate Degree prepared graduates and $10,000.00 for Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
prepared graduates. This is paid out over
a two year period. Eligible candidates need to be employed in at least a
48 hour position.
Tuition Reimbursement
Employees are encouraged to develop their skills and potential by taking advantage
of educational courses and programs. To promote staff development, Lourdes
provides tuition reimbursement to full-time and part-time employees, who have completed
their three (3) month probationary period, for: course work at an accredited college,
secondary school, business school, or vocational school; correspondence programs;
conferences;
workshops and seminars.
Degree Programs that are Healthcare or Job Related
Full-time and
part-time employees who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a field
that is healthcare or job related, and considered to be of current or future benefit
to Lourdes, or are taking courses matriculated towards such a degree are eligible
for Tuition Reimbursement.
Continuing Education that is Job Related
Full-time and part-time
employees, who are taking Continuing Education that is not degree oriented, non-matriculated,
are eligible for Tuition reimbursement for only those courses, workshops, seminars,
correspondence programs that are job related.
Enrollment in an Executive MBA (EMBA) program is eligible for Tuition
reimbursement and is subject to all Tuition Reimbursement requirements and the calendar
year maximum.
Continuing Education for Nurses
Well-known for high quality care, Lourdes is committed to continuous learning for
all of
our employees. Prior to the application of new treatments or procedures, education
is provided to ensure the nurse’s comfort level and to assure safe delivery of care.
