You deserve to get the medical care you need. Medications
prescribed by your health care provider are an important part of
staying well, but if you cannot afford them, you run the risk of
getting sicker.
The Hope Dispensary of the
Southern Tier, a service of Lourdes Hospital, may be able
to help. This program offers help to individuals who have no
prescription coverage and have a limited income. Patients at or
below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) will be provided with
short term and long term medication assistance. We have staff
available to assist with enrollment in Medicaid and other public
programs, if needed. Staff can also provide information and
assistance to patients so they can obtain a primary care provider,
if needed.

About the Hope Dispensary
The Dispensary model was founded in
2004 and is sponsored by Saint Thomas Health Services (a member
Ascension Health organization) based in Nashville, TN. This model
is built upon the concept of pooling sample medications from a
healthcare organization or community as well as obtaining bulk
distribution of medications from manufacturers and redistributing
them to patients in need.
Physicians' offices, distributors, and
manufacturers send their donated medications to the program's
central distribution center in Nashville, TN. Local dispensaries
request medications online from the central warehouse in order to
fill local prescriptions for those who meet the eligibility
requirements. The centralized inventory system includes a secure
web-based program for processing orders, managing inventory, and
capturing patient information.
